Description

Delicious and moist banana bread made with ripe bananas and chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sour cream (Full-fat recommended for best flavor.)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (Adjust to taste.)
  • 2 large eggs (Room temperature.)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (Spoon into measuring cup for accuracy.)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda (Ensure freshness.)
  • 1 pinch salt (A pinch is sufficient.)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup nuts (Walnuts recommended for crunch.)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (Semi-sweet adds contrast with tanginess.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash 3-4 ripe bananas until smooth, leaving a few chunks.
  3. Combine the mashed bananas with 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 large eggs. Stir until creamy, about 2 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Fold this mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for approximately 60 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness.
  6. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
