Description

A delicious dish featuring tender teriyaki chicken served over rice with steamed broccoli.


Ingredients

  • 1 lbs chicken thighs boneless, skinless
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 cups broccoli florets steamed
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar in a bowl.
  2. In another small bowl, combine cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear until browned and fully cooked.
  4. Pour sauce mixture over the chicken. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and simmer until the sauce thickens.
  5. Steam broccoli until just tender and vibrant green. Set aside.
  6. Assemble bowls with rice, teriyaki chicken, and broccoli. Top with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
