Creamy Garlic Chicken

Description

A delicious creamy garlic chicken recipe that’s easy to make and full of flavor!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken stock (low sodium)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • as desired Fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board and slice the chicken into two thinner slices.
  2. Place a piece of plastic wrap on top of the chicken and using a meat mallet or rolling pin pound out the chicken breasts to about ½ inch thick.
  3. Rub the flour over both sides of the chicken and sprinkle the salt and pepper evenly.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet on medium high heat. Sear the chicken for 4 minutes per side and remove to a plate.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and add the butter and garlic to the skillet and let melt, scraping the bits off the bottom.
  6. Sprinkle in the flour and cook another minute, then whisk in the chicken stock, onion powder and Italian seasoning and simmer 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  7. Whisk in the heavy cream and salt and pepper add more to taste if needed.
  8. Add the chicken back in and simmer on low for 3-5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve!

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh herbs.
  • Adjust the seasoning to personal taste.
  • Serve with pasta or rice for a complete meal.
